Low rider ALPS guides increase sensitivity enabling better bite detection and delivers a smooth, effortless cast. This light-medium rod is ideal for Squid fishing from an anchored or drifting boat.
When fishing at anchor, the Black Magic GLADIUS Light Medium Squid Boat Rod will allow you to send your jigs out a long way, particularly if matched with a high-performance casting braid. This allows you to maximise the water fished or coverage area. When drifting, distance casting is not always required, but the shorter length of the rod gives you more possibility to 'work' your jigs when in the zone, as it's lighter and shorter to 'whip' with.
