Icebreaker is a privately held merino wool outdoor and sport clothing designer and manufacturer, headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand. It was founded in 1994 by Jeremy Moon, and now supplies its clothing to more than 4,700 stores in 50 countries. Icebreaker's secret weapon is the Merino itself. Their Merino wool was born not in a lab, but in the mountains of New Zealand. The Icebreaker fibre factory works 24 hours a day, on the back of a sheep. Because of the natural fibres used, Icebreaker Merino wool feels softer, natural and not heavy and scratchy.
