Having well tied, secure flies can be a game changer out on the water. This is where UV resins come in handy. No more mixing 2-part epoxies! No more wasting precious fishing time waiting for messy epoxies to set-up when you are tying your flies. The Gulff Fatman Fly Tying Clear UV Resin is quick-drying, crystal clear, non-sticky and durable. The Fatman (thick viscosity) is the best option for large fly bodies. It's also thick enough for shaping. Recommended for streamers, fly heads and large Shrimps.
How to use the resins
The curing of the resin should be done so that the UV lamp is positioned approximately 2cm from the adhesive surface. We recommend using UV lamps with a wavelength of 365. All Gulff UV lamps operate at that wavelength. Colourless Gulff resins dry to a tack-free state in approximately 3-5 seconds, depending on the amount of resin. Important notice: UV resin warms up in response to UV light. Allow the resin to cool for 5 seconds after using the UV lamp before touching the surface. Dirt and grease in the fingers easily adhere to the hot surface and can make the surface sticky or stained.
