Always cleaning that paddle-wheels to remove marine growth or weeds?
This is an alternative to the paddle-wheel speed transducer that provides Speed Over the Ground in place of Speed Through the Water.
A good backup if your paddle-wheel stops working.
The SOG1 takes the GPS data output and converts it to a paddle-wheel signal. This enables you to display your Speed Over the Ground on a standard analog or digital speed log. This provides a more accurate estimate of time to get to your destination since it is not affected by water currents.
Most marine GPS units have a NMEA 0183 output. The SOG1 uses the NMEA 0183 $GPRMC sentence data to get accurate Speed over the Ground information at 0.01 knots from 0.00 to 60.00 knots.
Powered by 12VDC and draws less than 0.020 amps.
