Best value in anchoring safety and convenience
Made from a high-tensile, corrosion resistant aluminium magnesium alloy, the Fortress FX Series Danforth-Style Anchor ensures easier handling along with faster setting and deeper penetration in common sea bottoms compared to traditional and much heavier steel anchors. It's precision-machined into interlocking components with no welds to weaken the metal. This results in a lighter, easy to handle anchor with superior holding power. The FX series is available in different sizes suitable from small boats to yachts.
Mud Palms
All Fortress Anchors feature Mud Palms designed to help the anchor set faster in any type of sea bottom. Mud Palms create a "lift" to the crown of the anchor, causing the flukes to point more directly to the seabed. This helps the anchor set faster ... in any bottom.
2 Fluke Angle Positions
The Fortress anchor can be reassembled from the normal 32 degree angle to 45 degrees to increase holding power in soft mud bottoms by as much as 400%!
Fortress FX Series Anchor Features:
- Precision-machined from an aluminium alloy that is as strong as
steel, but only half the weight

Choosing the Correct D-Shackle Size:
When buying an anchor for your boat, you will need the appropriate D-Shackle to connect the rope and chain to your anchor. The recommended D-Shackle size for connecting your anchor to your chain is to get the next size up from your chain size. So if the chain is 6mm then an 8mm D-shackle is recommended. If it's a 7mm chain then an 8mm or 9mm D-shackle is recommended, etc.
